China: Yuchai YC6C Marine Engines Installed on Two Newly-Fabricated Fishing Vessels

Yuchai YC6C Marine Engines Installed on Two Newly-Fabricated Fishing Vessels

On July 5 and 6, two newly-fabricated fishing vessels carrying YC6C marine engines set off for trial voyages from a Xinjian Shipyard and Tenglong Shipyard in Taizhou, and returned to the shipowners’ hometown Ruoshan Town safe and sound.

The two YC6C marine engines operated in good conditions during the voyages lasting some three hours, fully showing the advantages of Yuchai engines including strong power, small smoke, low noise and fuel conservation, which enjoy overwhelming superiorities over engines of other brands in smoke and noise.

Due to the debut of YC6C engines in Taizhou, to obtain first-hand data, the R & D Center and Marine Electric Department of Yuchai sent three technicians including Wang Lile for a field test with the help of the agent Shanze and the shipowners. Also, the technicians had elaborate discussions with the customers about the characteristics of YC6C engines, fishing operations and fishing skills. Before the trial voyages, the customers worried that YC6C engines use fresh water intercoolers. However, instrumentation results showed fresh water cooling can not only meet cooling requirements, but also avoid sea water corrosion. It has become a selling point of YC6C engines instead.

According to sources, Yuchai’s agent Shanze just went into operation on June 23, 2012. To maximize the economic benefit of YC6C engines in customers’ hands, the company has solved problems of gas starter, water pump and additional belt pulley in a short period, thus gaining high praise from shipowners.
