CNG station in Frederick opens

Washington Gas together with Trillium CNG opened the first of three public fueling stations for compressed natural gas vehicles in Frederick, Maryland.

The station, owned by Washington Gas, will be operated and maintained by Trillium CNG, the company said in a statement.

Currently in the United States, there are more than 150,000 natural gas vehicles operating on roadways with more than 100 different models of light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles available to the public or to commercial fleets.

Later this summer, Washington Gas and Trillium CNG will open a second public CNG fueling station in Forestville, Maryland. A third station is being planned for the District of Columbia.
