ConocoPhillips to Use Maersk Gallant for Eldfisk Drilling

ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS (ConocoPhillips) has received consent to use the Mærsk Gallant jack-up rig for production drilling on Eldfisk 2/7-S in the Norwegian North Sea.

The consent relates to pre-drilling and completion of five production wells and one injection well.

The drilling will start in the 2nd quarter of 2013 at the earliest.

Mærsk Gallant (above) is a jack-up drilling rig, built at Far East Levingston Shipbuilding (FELS) in Singapore in 1993. It is classified by Lloyd’s and registered in the Danish Ship Register. The facility is operated by Maersk Contractors Norge A/S. Mærsk Gallant received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in August 2002.
