Dalby Ouse Named at Seawork
The 26-metre wind farm service vessel (WFSV) Dalby Ouse was officially named at the Seawork International Exhibition in Southampton on 14 June.
The aluminium catamaran has now returned to Great Yarmouth for final acceptance and delivery trials and is expected to be delivered to Dalby Offshore in the coming weeks. The Ouse is the first 26 metre South Boats IOW design to be built by Alicat Workboats in Great Yarmouth.
The vessel will commence its first contract on delivery from Dalby’s Trinity Quay facility in Great Yarmouth.
Stuart McNiven, Managing Director of Dalby, said: “Despite the financial challenges the industry has faced in the last year there have been many positive announcements in recent months and with the Round 3 projects now set to go ahead in 2017 and beyond, Dalby are well placed to capitalise on the opportunities and these large multi-functional vessels like the Ouse offer greater capability and flexibility and bring a new dimension to our fleet.”
The WFSV is powered by Twin MAN V12-1650 main engines coupled to Hamilton HM721 water jet propulsion.
It has forward and after cargo decks capable of carrying 20 tonnes of equipment, and the capacity to carry 24 passengers, with onboard accommodation for 8 passengers plus crew.
