Det norske oljeselskap ASA has initiated production from Jette field, offshore Norway. The first well, located in the North Sea, is in production, and with good results, the company has announced.

This is the first oil produced by Det norske as operator, representing a milestone for the company.

The start-up of production from Jette has proceeded as planned. The first oil arrived from Jette to the Jotun field on 19 May. Production from the second well on Jette is expected to commence on 22 May.

Det norske is the operator of Jette, holding a 70 percent interest. Petoro is the partner, with a 30 percent interest.

Jette contains about 14 million barrels of oil equivalents, based on a 30 percent recovery rate. Daily production during the first year will constitute approximately 14 000 barrels.
