DOE: Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG exports reach 89.44 Bcf

Cheniere’s Sabine Pass export facility shipped eight cargoes of liquefied natural gas in August, bringing the total volumes exported in February-August period to 89.44 billion cubic feet.

Including the first cargo shipped from the facility in Louisiana on February 24, Cheniere dispatched 29 cargoes during the period under review, data from the US Department of Energy shows.

Out of the eight cargoes shipped in August, three ended up in Chile, one each in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Argentina, while two were dispatched to Brazil. However, the cargo shipped on August 6, aboard the 162,000-cbm Clean Ocean LNG carrier was split between Argentina and Brazil.

Prices for the August cargoes ranged from US$4.32 per mmBtu to $5.32 per mmBtu.

In addition to the Sabine Pass exports, American LNG Marketing dispatched four cargoes of liquefied natural gas produced at the Hialeah facility in Florida and loaded onto ISO containers.

All four cargoes priced at $10 per mmBtu were dispatched to Barbados, bringing the total volumes exported since February to 30.48 Bcf, DoE’s data shows.

LNG imports into the U.S. reached 61.06 Bcf in the period from February to August, all sourced from Trinidad and Tobago.
