Ecofys Appoints New Managing Director

As of 1 May, Thijs Aarten will be interim Managing Director of Ecofys. He will be replacing Manon Janssen, who has tendered her resignation after being CEO and Managing Director with Ecofys for five years.

Thijs Aarten has over 33 years in the energy sector. He has worked for Shell, Vopak and was CEO of KEMA. In addition to his appointment at Ecofys, he is Director of EnShared Development, a start-up that focuses on the transition towards a more decentralised energy system.

Manon Janssen will continuously work on the energy transition in her role as Chair of the Top Sector Energy, a Dutch initiative driving innovation in the energy market to reach the long-term energy goals of the Netherlands. In this role, she will help position Ecofys further as a leading player in complex energy issues.
