ERMA FIRST Receives Technical Achievement Award

ERMA FIRST S.A., the Piraeus based Ballast Water Treatment Vendor, was honored with the Technical Achievement Award from Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2013.

The glamorous 10th Anniversary of LLOYD’S List Greek Shipping Awards 2013, which hosted over thousand distinguished guests from the shipping industry, was held in Athenaeum Intercontinental.

The hydrocyclonic method that ERMA FIRST Ballast Water Treatment Systems use is a unique method. No other ballast water treatment system uses similar technology for extreme sediment removal and effective disinfection of ballast water.

Accepting the award on the behalf of ERMA FIRST was Mrs Helen Polychronopoulou, Executive Vice President of EPE S.A. (Environmental Protection Engineering SA), parent company of ERMA FIRST.

Major Greek Shipping companies such as EVALEND Shipping, NIOVIS Shipping, STEALTH Maritime and OCEANBULK have opted for ERMA FIRST’s innovative technology.

The company has already signed up for more than 40 projects. A few of them have already been delivered while the majority of installations will be completed within 2014, which is estimated be a very busy year for ERMA FIRST.

During 2013, ERMA FIRST has successfully completed a wide range of installations of its Ballast Water Treatment System in China, Korea, Japan, India, Turkey and Greece.
