Final WindFloat Atlantic Turbine Put Together

MHI Vestas and Global Wind Service (GWS) have completed the assembly of the last turbine for the WindFloat Atlantic project.

The last of the three MHI Vestas V164-8.4MW turbines destined for WindFloat Atlantic was assembled last weekend on the quayside at the Port of Ferrol in Spain, GWS said.

The project’s second floating wind platform was recently towed to its final position 20km off Portugal’s coast. Shortly after, WindFloat Atlantic began producing power.

The 25MW project is led by the Windplus consortium comprising EDP Renewables (54.4%), Engie (25%), Repsol (19.4%), and Principle Power Inc. (1.2%).
