Floatel expands fleet with another Keppel semiFloatel International, a Swedish provider of offshore accommodation rigs, has expanded its flotel offering.

The company has taken delivery of is fifth semi-submersible accommodation rig – the Floatel Triumph.

 The Floatel Triumph is a semi-submersible accommodation and construction support rig equipped with Kongsberg Dynamic Positioning System, certified to DP3 class.

It can accommodate 500 persons in one and two-bed cabins and offers recreational areas, including mess and day rooms, gymnasium, internet café and cinema.

The rig has a telescopic gangway for personnel to transfer between the unit and the host installation. A helideck and two deck cranes to support logistical requirements.

The semi, built by Singapore’s Keppel Fels, will be chartered by oil firm Chevron for work in the Wheatstone gas field, offshore Western Australia.

Floatel Triumph is scheduled to arrive on location in mid-October 2016. Thereafter, it will work for Inpex at Ichthys field, also in off Western Australia.

Keppel FELS previously delivered Floatel Superior, Floatel Reliance, Floatel Victory and Floatel Endurance, to Floatel.
