Floating LiDAR Waves Goodbye to Gwynt y Mor

FORECAST, floating LiDAR system located in the vicinity of the Gwynt y Môr offshore wind farm, is due to be removed today by Babcock International.

The buoy, owned by Babcock, will be removed by the crane barge Lara 1 and the tug C-Salvor. The whole operation is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

The 576MW wind farm comprises 160 turbines with individual capacity of 3.6MW. The construction of this project was completed last month, and it is expected to be fully operational in 2015.
