Brodosplit Shipyard Holds Naming Ceremony for Ro-Pax Vessel PIANA

In the port of Bastia in Corsica, on 31st January 2012, naming ceremony was held for Hull 468 called ‘’PIANA’’. Ro-pax is the vessel for transportation of passenger, cars, trucks and vehicle with dangerous cargo on the route Marseille – Bastia. On the naming ceremony, attended by numerous distinguished guests, the mayors of Bastia and Marseille, and about 600 residents of the city, the ship is named “Piana” her godmother Mrs. Anne-Charlotte de Lambilly.

“Piana” is named one of the most beautiful locations in Corsica, the bay Piana in Gulf of Porto, added in 1983 on the list of UNESCO world heritage site.

On behalf of Brodosplit, the naming ceremony attended by Mr. Živoje Krstulović-Opara, Director of the project, Mr. Neven Jug, Director of Sales and Design Division, Mr. Srećko Kurtović, Sales Manager and Mr. Ino Jurišić, project manager.

On this occasion, the representatives of the French shipping company express satisfaction with the cooperation between company and shipyard which resulted in high quality product, ro-pax ferry included on the list of “Significant Ships of the year 2011“, published by RINA, London.
