Gate expanding LNG truck loading facilities

Dutch Gate terminal in the port of Rotterdam will see further expansion with the addition of the second LNG loading station for trucks and containers.

The operator of the Gate LNG terminal informed in a statement on Monday that the construction completion and the commencement of loading operations of the second loading station is planned for the first quarter of 2017.

First LNG truck loading facility at the terminal has been launched in January 2014 with a total capacity of 5,000 tankers per year. The trucks are transporting the chilled gas to “small” end-users in the Netherlands and other parts of Europe.

Gate, with main shareholders Gasunie and Vopak, said the second loading station will increase the loading capacity to 10,000 trucks per year.
