Gazprom’s chairman Alexey Miller met with the French minister of economy, industry and the digital sector, Emmanuel Macron and Jean-Pierre Jouyet, chief of staff of the president of France to discuss natural gas industry cooperation.

The meeting focused on the supply of Russian gas to France, Gazprom noted in a statement on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, Miller noted that “since the beginning of the year Russian gas exports to France have grown by almost 800 million cubic meters, which is more than one and a half times higher compared to the previous year.”

Miller also met with Isabelle Kocher of Engie who will take the CEO position at the start of May. The meeting discussed the bilateral cooperation with a special focus on the North Stream 2 project, Gazprom said.
