Russia’s Gazprom on Monday signed a four-year €800 million (Approx: US$849.1 million) facility agreement with Japan’s Mizuho Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and U.S.-based JPMorgan Chase bank.

The agreement was signed by Gazprom’s deputy chairman Andrey Kruglov, Teiji Teramoto, managing executive officer, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa of Mizuho, Tetsuro Imaeda, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa division of SMBC and Yan Tavrovsky, president of J.P. Morgan International.

Mizuho Bank has already contributed to a number of Gazprom’s financial operations, including deals aimed at securing corporate and project financing, as well as transactions with Gazprom Group’s Eurobonds in capital markets.

SMBC has since 2000 been actively involved in Gazprom’s deals aimed at securing corporate and project financing and has acted as a financial adviser to the company, while J.P. Morgan has been cooperating since 2004.
