GDF Suez Drills Duster in Near Gjøa (Norway)

GDF SUEZ E&P Norge, operator of production licence 153, has completed the drilling of wildcat well 35/9-9. The well is dry.

The well was drilled about 8 km west of the Gjøa field in the North Sea.

This is the ninth exploration well in production license 153 . The license was awarded in the 12th licensing round in 1988.

The 35/9-9 well was drilled to a vertical depth of 3298 meters below sea level and terminated in Triassic rocks. The water depth is 360 meters. The well will now be permanently plugged and abandoned.

The well 35/9-9 was drilled by the Transocean Barents semi-submersible drilling rig, which now proceed to production license 551 in the North Sea to drill wildcat well 31/3-4 where Tullow Oil Norway AS is the operator.
