Germany: One Billion Euros in Compensation for Delays in Offshore Connections

The German federal government expects that the transmission companies would have to pay a compensation of around one billion euros, if offshore wind farms fail to be connected to the grid on time.

Germany is facing massive grid connection delays. Last year, TenneT announced a 12- month delay in connecting the Nordsee Ost wind farm.

Even Vattenfall will see its DanTysk offshore wind farm grid link completed by the spring 2014, despite the fact that it was planned to be ready by the very start of 2014.
