GL Garrad Hassan Creates 'Global Award in Renewable Energy' (Germany)

GL Garrad Hassan has created the “Global Award in Renewable Energy”. The award will honour innovative ideas and new technical approaches in research and development for the renewable energy industry.

The award is created to spur young scientists to take up the challenge of answering questions like: How can the cost of renewable energy projects be reduced? What can be done to minimise transport losses, so that more of the energy generated by offshore wind energy plants reaches consumers? Where are the opportunities for wind turbines to be made even more efficient?

The “GL Garrad Hassan Global Award in Renewable Energy” will be presented for a PhD thesis which best embodies this year’s theme: “Innovation and cost saving”. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of €5,000.

Submissions must be received by 30 November 2012. The winner will be notified at the end of January 2013.
