Helix’s Q4000 Sets Deployment Record for 10K Riser System

Helix Energy Solutions has informed that its well intervention vessel Q4000 set a new deepest deployment record for the Helix 10K Intervention Riser System (IRS) on a deepwater well.

The Q4000 performed a flow back on an unnamed well at a water depth of 2,851 meters.

The Q4000 completed the flow back successfully, also performing a through-tubing screen replacement, the company said.

Helix’s Q4000 is a DP3 semi-submersible vessel purpose-built for well intervention and construction in water depths to 10,000 feet. It is capable of conducting a variety of tasks including subsea completion, decommissioning and coiled tubing deployment.

Q4000 features an 11.9 m x 6.4 m moonpool, a 7-3/8″ intervention riser system and a 3,000 m heavy weather ROV system.
