Pakistani Navy commissions dredger

The Pakistani Navy has commissioned its first dredger, Behar Kusha, which was formally inducted into the Pakistani Navy at a recent ceremony held at PN Dockyard.

The dredger has been acquired from China and is 81m long with a draft of 4.95m.

It will be used primarily to dredge approaches, harbour channels, basins and naval berths at the Jinnah Naval Base, Ormara, but may also be used for dredging naval areas at Karachi and other national ports.
