Great Lakes Maritime Task Force renews call for dredging

Journal of Commerce (JOC) reports that Great Lakes shipping interests have an urgent suggestion for Obama Administration stimulus spending — if you want to support American-made steel in infrastructure improvements, then dig down and dredge harbours and channels.

The JOC said the Great Lakes Maritime Task Force, a coalition of port authorities, trades unions, US-flag vessel operators, terminal operators, and other interests, “made their pitch” last Friday in a news release and 2008 annual report.
