Fishers worried about cruise ship terminal plan

Commercial fishermen say a cruise ship terminal on the Southport Spit at the Gold Coast could have a devastating impact on their earnings. The Queensland Government is set to begin an environmental impact study to further assess the viability of the project. Dennis O’Connell from the Queensland Seafood Industry Association says the Broadwater is a vital spawning shelter for a variety of fish such as sea mullet and bream.
