Port of Melbourne to upgrade security

HIGH-tech equipment capable of detecting bombs attached to the hulls of ships will be introduced as part of major security upgrade of the Port of Melbourne. The Royal Australian Navy and the Port of Melbourne Authority planned to install sonar systems to monitor activity on the harbour floor and protect ships and facilities, The Age newspaper reported.
