India set to get LNG cargo

India’s largest LNG terminal located at Dahej in Gujarat is expected to receive a cargo of the chilled gas today.

The LNG is being carried onboard the 155,000 cbm Aseem, which is sailing from Qatar’s port of Ras Laffan, shipping data reveals.

Petronet LNG, the operator of the import terminal, is currently undergoing expansion works to boost the Dahej terminal’s capacity to 15 Mtpa.

The construction works are expected to be complete by November in 2016.

The company has also earlier this year approved a further expansion of the LNG terminal in Gujarat to 17.5 million tonne per annum.
