Iran adds new gas pressure booster station

Iran’s gas transmission capacity to neighboring countries has increased with the launching of Tabriz’s pressure booster facility, in East Azarbaijan province.

Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of gas transfer projects in the province, Mohammad-Ali Emam, the managing director of Iranian Gas Transmission Company, noted that the new facility is actually meant as a gas terminal for neighboring countries, which can increase capacity of gas exports to about 60 MMcm per day.

According to the National Iranian Gas Company, he added that the new gas pressure facility will help further guarantee the sustainability of gas transfer in northwestern of the country, and also prepare the ground for more exports to neighboring countries.

Emam stated that this facility is the first of its kind to use electromotor instead of gas turbine.
