Iran Calls for Foreign Gas Industry Investors

Iran is ready to receive new offers from interested companies and investors to create a safe atmosphere of their cooperation, deputy managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Mostafa Kashkoli said.

According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, he said that Iran is currently capable of producing 600 million cubic meters of gas per day and the figure is expected to exceed 1.2 billion cubic meters per day by the end of the fifth five-year development plan.

Kashkoli went on to say that Iran has the capacity to transfer 750 million cubic meters of gas per day and also currently total length of high pressure gas pipeline network reached 35 thousand kilometers.

Addressing 25th World Gas Conference in Malaysia, he stated that over the fifth- five year development plan, new phases of South Pars gas field will be coming online and Iran’s gas exports will reach 180 million cubic meters per day.

He said that, Iran aims to gain a 10-percent share in the global gas trade by the end of the fifth five- year development plan.

He emphasized that according to the existing infrastructure and country’s future plans, the Islamic Republic of Iran will be as one of important country in global gas trade.
