Iran Discovers Two New Gas Fields

Iran has discovered two new natural gas fields, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company, Mr. Ahmad Ghalebani announced here. According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, he said that details on the discovery of these new gas fields will be announced by the Iranian Oil Minister on the Islamic Republics’s anniversary in February.

“Currently, a working group consisting of experts from the National Iranian Oil Company and Oil Ministry’s planning department have embarked on studying the oil and gas reserves of each one of the country’s hydrocarbon fields”, Deputy planning of the Oil Minister, Mohsen khojasteh Mehr said.

It’s worth mentioning that measuring new reserves in the oil and gas fields is carried out in accordance with Iran’s latest scientific and technological achievements, and the final measurement on the total supplies of Iran’s crude oil and natural gas reserves will be officially announced. “According to the latest official statistics, Iran has 150.3 billion barrels of crude oil and 33.1 trillion cubic meters of natural gas”, Iranian Petroleum Minister, Dr, Mirkazemi announced.

It is important enough to say that the five new gas and oil fields have been discovered during the past year.
