Iran-Europe Gas Pipeline 48 Percent Complete

Construction the third section of sixth Iran’s gas trunk line (IGAT-6) which is aimed to export natural gas to Europe has progressed by 48 percent, managing director of Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC), Alireza Gharibi said.

He went on to say that, the 620-kilometer-long distance between Dehgolan and Bazargan in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province near the border with Turkey which started last year has been completed by nearly a half, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

It’s worth mentioning that, the 1300-kilometer gas trunk line is one of the Iranian routes for gas exports to Europe.

Upon completion, Iran’s gas transfer capacity will increase by one hundred million cubic meters per day”, he said.

He added that the pipeline also will be able to export 60 to 70 million cubic meters of gas per day to Turkey and other European countries.
