Iran to Invest USD 2 Billion in Gathering Associated Gases

Two billion dollars will be invested in gathering associated gases in Kharg and Bahregan projects south of Iran, deputy minister of petroleum for engineering and domestically manufacturing affairs, Hamdollah Mohammadnejad said.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the fourth meeting of the Iranian ministry of petroleum’s HSE’s managers and experts, he said that by implementation of these projects, more than 17 million cubic meters of gases would be gathered that not only will reduce their negative impact on environment but also will lead to optimum use of gases.

He went on to say that, already about $500 million have been spent in gathering associated gases and by implementing new projects; it is expected 99 percent of all associated gases to be gathered, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
