Iranian natural gas exports in H1 hit 4 bcm

Gas exports from Iran have reached almost 4 billion cubic meters in the first half of the Iranian calendar year that started on March 20. 

This is a 3.4 percent increase compared to the same period, March 20-September 21, in 2015, according to Mehdi Jamshidi Dana, dispatching director of National Iranian Gas Company.

Dana noted that Iran exported 3.92 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the period under review, NIGC’s statement reads.

Natural gas imports into Iran dropped 25.1 percent, Dana noted, adding that over 6 bcm of sour gas was injected to Aghajari oilfield for enhanced recovery from its reserve.

He further said that more than two billion cubic meters of sweet gas have been injected into oil reservoirs , while over 1 bcm of gas has been injected to Shourijeh and Sarajeh underground gas storage facilities, a 17 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
