Kogas November sales down

Kogas of South Korea, the world’s largest corporate buyer of LNG, said its sales volume totaled 2.58 million mt in November, a drop of 15.7 percent as compared to the same month last year.

Sales into the power sector were at 1.05 million mt, down 26.9 percent, while the company’s city gas sales dropped 5.7 percent on year to 1.52 million mt, Kogas said in a filing to the stock exchange.

The company’s gas sales in October were at 2.21 million mt, down 12.1 percent as compared to the previous year.

Kogas said last week that it has completed  the first phase of its Samcheok LNG receiving terminal located some 250 kilometers east of Seoul.

This will be South Korea’s fourth LNG import terminal. The country currently imports the chilled gas via the Pyeongtaek, Incheon and Tongyeong facilities.
