Malaysian LNG earnings drop in Jan-Nov

Malaysia’s earnings from exports of liquefied natural gas in the period from January to November plunged 25.1 percent due to contraction in the average unit value, according to the country’s External Trade Development Corporation. 

LNG exports brought in RM43.27 billion (US$9.8 billion) in the period covered by the report issued on Thursday.

This compares to RM57.74 (around US$13.1 billion) for the same period in 2014.

Malaysia’s earnings from exports of liquefied natural gas to Japan in the period under review dropped by RM10.45 billion (around US$2.4 billion), the report shows.

In November, Malaysia’s LNG exports brought in RM4,5 billion (around US$1 billion) compared to RM5 billion (around US$1.1 billion) in the same month 2014.
