Minister Coleman upbeat after PNW LNG FID

British Columbia’s Minister of Natural Gas Development Rich Coleman has issued a statement welcoming the commercial investment decision by Pacific NorthWest LNG to build a liquefied natural gas export facility in Prince Rupert.

Coleman said in his statement that British Columbia government has put this new industry in a position of strength to move forward and created certainty for Pacific NorthWest LNG.

“We recognize there is work to do, including an environmental assessment by the Government of Canada, as well as engagement with First Nations,” said Coleman.

Developing an LNG industry will result in some of the largest private-sector investments in British Columbia’s history, said Coleman adding that is stimulating economic activity throughout the province.

Pacific NorthWest LNG, which is poised to be the first major operation in BC, is comprised of Petronas, Sinopec, JAPEX, Indian Oil Corporation and PetroleumBRUNEI.
