More than 20 Missing after Tug Sinks

On January 15, 2015, a tug boat sank during the sea trial off Jingjiang, China.

Sembcorp Marine Ltd’s tug towing subsidiary Jurong Marine Services Pte Ltd had three employees witnessing a sea trial of the tug boat it had planned to charter when the incident happened.

The company informed that search and rescue mission is underway for these three employees, two of whom are Singaporeans and one an Indonesian.

“The Group has informed their families and has made arrangements for them to travel to Shanghai. Management will continue to provide support and comfort and updates on the search mission to the families,” Sembcorp wrote on their website.

According to media reports three people have been rescued and more that 20  are still missing. Search and rescue operation is underway.
