Newport Shipping inks LNG deal with LGM Engineering

UK-based drydocking services provider Newport Shipping has signed a cooperation deal with Gloryholder Liquified Gas Machinery (LGM Engineering).

Newport Shipping said the deal will enable it to provide LNG solutions to the market. The company intends to meet its clients’ environmental needs through cooperation with leading companies in their field.

Meeting the future demands of cutting emissions and decarbonizing the industry will need proven technology, Newport Shipping said.

The agreement will see LGM Engineering supply Newport Shipping’s LNG retrofit projects with its LNG solutions.

In June LGM Engineering signed a contract to design and supply an LNG fuel gas supply system for two 13,000 DWT chemical tankers with Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Company Limited (YZJ).

The vessels owner is Tarbit Tankers, and the classification society is Bureau Veritas (BV).

The complete LNG fuel gas supply system delivered by LGM Engineering includes the design and manufacture of double vacuum insulated LNG fuel tanks with integrated tank connection space (TCS), LNG bunkering station modules, water glycol system, ESD systems, gas detection system, installation guidance, commission, crew training.
