Norway: BG Allowed to Use Subsea Facilites and Pipelines on Gaupe

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted BG Norge AS a permission to use subsea facilities and pipelines on the Gaupe field.

The Gaupe field is part of production licence 292 and lies about 240 km southwest of Stavanger, near the border to the UK shelf.  The water depth in the area is about 85 metres.  Production is scheduled to start 15-20 March

BG farmed in as the license operator (60%) in 2005 after Lundin (40%) had acquired the license in 2004. The field lays 6 kilometers east of BG operated Armada Platform.

BG Group entered Norway in 2003 and now has 14 licences (10 as operator) gained predominantly through licensing rounds.
