Simek AS Completes BP and Winch Tests for AHTS Brage Viking

On the 18th January 2012, the newly built AHTS Brage Viking arrived directly from the yard in Spain, to do some quick release and winch-testing at the Bollard Pull outside Flekkefjord.

She arrived in Flekkefjord early in the morning on the 18th January, and they started testing around 5:00 PM. They tested different equipments through the night, and early in the morning on the 19th January, she headed out of Flekkefjord, bound for Stavanger.

Brage Viking is the last of four AHTS that has been build by Astilleros Zamakona in Spain.

The three other sisterships, Njord and Loke and Magne Viking has also been in Flekkefjord earlier.

The vessel series is specifically designed to meet demands for efficient, safe and environmentally friendly offshore management in areas with severe ice conditions such as the Barents sea.

Brage Viking has the following technical data:

AHTS, ice 1A, stand by vessel, oilrec, clean design. Deck area 750 m2, length 85 m, beam 22 m, 4,500 deadweight tons and complies with the most up-to-date regulations pertaining to oil recovery.
