Novatek Interested in Cyprus Offshore Gas

Novatek of Russia is looking at bidding for licenses to explore off Cyprus for gas.

“Yes, were are looking for possibilities to invest into projects, connected to our core business,“Reuters reported, citing the company’s spokesman.

Noble Energy said in December that it has found natural gas at the Cyprus Block 12 prospect, offshore Cyprus.

Israe’s Delek has suggested that Cyprus build an LNG export plant, which would process both Cypriot and Israeli natural gas, discovered in even bigger quantities in nearby waters.

Cyprus will seek financing from other countries and companies to help it build  an LNG export plant, the country’s energy minister recently said.
