Origin Energy Spuds Offshore Well in Vietnam

Australia’s Origin Energy has, on behalf of the Block 121 Joint Venture, announced that the 121-Ca Voi-1X  well spudded at 0730 hours local (Vietnam) time on 15  June 2013.

The well is being drilled using the semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean General. Origin said it would only advise the market again when well operations have been completed with a summary of  results, or of any event that is material.
The 121-Ca Voi-1X well is situated in the Phu Khanh Basin off the coast of central Vietnam. Prognosed total measured depth of the well is 3,771 metres. The well will be plugged and abandoned after the evaluation.

Origin Energy is operating the block with 45% interest. Other partners in the area are Premier Oil with 40% and Pan Pacific Petroleum holding 15%.
