As a precaution, the oil company yesterday began evacuation of 15.000 thousand workers mainly working on maintenance and support services due to the tropical depression ‘Nine’.

On its Twitter account, the oil company said the evacuation did not cause major disruption to its production in the Bay of Campeche, adding that the evacuation was conducted in compliance with its Hurricane Emergency Response Plan.

According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center ‘Nine’ is producing disorganized thunderstorms and winds to gale force.

Pemex said the workers would return to their jobs when weather conditions permit. The company said that 97 vessels and 36 helicopters were used for the evacuation.
