Petrobras Jan Oil, Gas Production Up

Petrobras said that the average production of oil and natural gas in Brazil and overseas in January was 2,731.1 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed).

This result is 2.6% above the volume registered in the same period in 2011 and was 0.5% higher than the production of December/2011.

Taking into consideration only the fields in Brazil, the average production of oil and natural gas reached the total of 2,490.5 thousand boed, an increase of 2.8% in relation to January 2011 and an increase of 1% in comparison with December 2011. The oil production in Brazil reached a total of 2,110.1 thousand barrels per day, which represents an increase of 2% in relation to January 2011 and 1.2% when compared with December of that year.

It has contributed for the achievement of such results the new producing wells in platform P-57, in Jubarte field, and in platform P-56, in Marlin Sul field, and the Extended Well Test (EWT) in Aruanã, in the south portion of Campos Basin post-salt region, operated by FPSO vessel Cidade do Rio das Ostras.

The natural gas production of the Brazilian fields reached 60.4 million of m³/d, which represented an increase of 7.6% when compared to January 2011 and remained stable in relation to the previous month.
