Petrobras pre-salt output drops in July

Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has reported a drop in pre-salt production in July due to a scheduled stoppage on the P-58 FPSO.

The state-owned company reported on Tuesday that its total oil and natural gas production in July was 2.74 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), of which 2.63 million boed produced in Brazil and 114 thousand boed produced abroad.

The average oil production in the country was 2.12 million barrels per day (bpd), a volume 3.3% lower than in June. This result is due mostly to the scheduled stoppage of platform P-58, which operates in the Jubarte, Baleia Anã, Baleia Azul, and Baleia Franca fields, in the Campos Basin.

Meanwhile, natural gas production in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, was 80 million m³/d, 0.4% below the previous month.

A drop in pre-salt

In July, the oil and natural gas production operated by Petrobras, which includes own share and partners, in the pre-salt layer was 1.61 million boed, a volume 4.3% lower than the previous month due mainly to the scheduled stoppage of P-58.

Oil and natural gas production abroad

In July, oil production in overseas fields was 65 thousand bpd, in line with the previous month.

Natural gas production was 8.4 million m³/d, 2.9% above the volume produced in June. This increase resulted mainly from higher demand for Bolivian gas.
