Petrovietnam Delegation Pays Visit to Dung Quat Shipyard

Recently, Petrovietnam delegation leaded by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, member of Petrovietman Board of Directors have worked with Dung Quat Shipyard. Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi – Chairman together with all members of DQS Board of Management and other Managers attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Hoai An – DQS General Director reported on the results of production and business activities in early 11 months of 2011. After more than one year being under the management of Petrovietnam, DQS has gradually stabilize and consolidate the organization system and developed business in the field of ship building and repairing. During the last 11 months, together with building the 105.000 DWT Crude Oil Tanker, launching successfully PVT MERCURY 104.000DWT crude oil tanker, DQS has repaired, converted and delivered timely 08 vessels to customers, gradually affirming the ability of the DQS in the field of ship repairing.

In the early of November 2011, DQS has received three units from VIETSOVPETRO J.V. large tonnage crane vessels, Hoang Sa, Con Son and Truong Sa in dock for repairs, modification with total contract value of over 300 billion VND.

DQS has made an efforts to complete company’s facilities such as putting into use of the dry dock No.1, dredging the flow, installing 450T crane installation, upgrading management office building, canteen for staffs, etc…

Regarding the human resources, there are nearly 1.8000 staffs working in DQS. There is arrangement of stable organization with 16 departments. At present, DQS has set up and applied management procedure and regulations as ISO 9001 – 2008 standards certified by the British Standards Institute.

During the last 11 months, Company has arranged work, assured income at high level for workers. In addition, DQS has also taken care health and living condition of staff such as periodical heath check-up, arranging bus for staffs, stabilizing accommodation in the Eastern-Western Tra Bong dormitory tocreate comfortable conditions for staff.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr.Vu Quang Nam–Deputy General Director of Group shared: “DQS is one of the most difficult companies in Petrovietnam but oriented viable development in ship building and repairing. Mr.Nam recommended DQS Board of Management should direct more aggressive in production management, marketing, speeding up the overall plan, enhancing the roles of organizations for stable development in future.”
