Picture of the day: Curtis Island LNG projects

Bechtel Gladstone began working more than five years ago towards developing a new LNG hub in Queensland on Curtis island to service the Asian energy market.

Curtis Island, located off the coast of Gladstone, is home to the Santos GLNG project, the Australia Pacific LNG project and the Queensland Curtis LNG project.

Bechtel is building six production trains on Curtis Island, which will produce about 25 million tonnes of LNG annually when complete in early 2016, the equivalent to powering a city the size of Tokyo with 13 million people, according to the company.
