POGC Installs Deck for South Pars Gas Field Phases 17 and 18 (Iran)

The first deck of South Pars gas field phases 17 and 18 platforms was installed in its offshore location in Persian Gulf, announced Pars Oil and Gas Company on its website today, November 4.

Managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Mousa Souri, made the remark adding the deck weighs 2320 tons adding two million hours of specialized work have been spent for construction of the structure.

The deck’s production capacity stands at 500 million cubic feet equivalent to 14 million cubic meters of gas per day and its completion process including engineering, construction and installation took 51 months.

‘Under POGC’s program the first platform of South Pars gas field phases 17 and 18 (A17) will come on line in the next three months after completion of installation, pre launching and launching operations’, the official said.

He continued 220 kilometers of laying 32-inch pipeline at offshore sector and 220 kilometers of 4-inch side pipelines of 17 and 18 phases are complete and ready for launching.

Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) as the contractor of building and installation of maritime structures of the phases has already completed installation of 4 legs, tripod and flare of the A17 platform.

Deck of second platform of the phases named A18 has progressed by 90 percent while drilling of 22 wells on the platforms of A17 and A18 (11 wells in each platform) has made 78 percent progress, according to Souri.

He anticipated drilling of 15 wells be completed in the next two months that would be followed by production of 1.000 million cubic feet of gas per day.

Development plan of South Pars gas field phases 17 and 18 includes drilling of 44 production wells plus 2 main and 2 satellite platforms.
