Qatari Energy Minister Calls for Adoption of Proper Methods for Gas Fields Development

Qatari Minister of Industry and Energy Mohammed Saleh Abdulla Al Sada has stressed the need for the adoption of appropriate approaches for the development of gas fields.

“Establishment of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) has been an effective step for further development of this industry,” the Qatari minister said upon his arrival in Tehran to attend the GECF ministerial meeting.

“Tehran’s GECF ministerial meeting is very important for us and we are so happy that this meeting is being hosted by one of the GECF founding members,” he said, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

The Qatari minister underscored for the development of gas fields and reservoirs, saying “we must continue our efforts for the development of these reservoirs.”

“We have to benefit from appropriate approaches for the development of gas fields and the establishment of GECF is an effective step for further development of this industry,” said Al Sada.

The Qatari minister noted that the GECF establishment has been aimed at further cooperation between its members as well as exchange of data and ideas about the development of gas.

“In addition to producers, gas consumers will also benefit from the existence of such an assembly,” the minister said.

“Given concerns about climatic changes in the world, gas is the best and the cleanest source of energy for economic development and helping the world’s environmental conditions,” he added.
