Remontowa Nets Dual Fuelled PSVs

Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. (Poland) has won an order from Siem Offshore to build four dual fuelled Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs).

Siem Offshore has currently two vessels of similar design under construction for delivery in 2014 and 2015, and these vessels are contracted long-term with TOTAL E&P NORGE AS and AS Norske Shell respectively.

The vessels will be of VS 4411 DF design. They will have dual fuel systems for the use of either LNG or Marine Diesel Oil. This new series of PSVs for Siem Offshore represents the latest technology within dual fuelled systems and hull design, to the benefit of lower fuel consumption, lower fuel cost, lower emissions and a better environment.

The newbuilds will meet the highest requirements for operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and are also suited for operations in other geographical areas.

The vessels will have an overall length of 89 meters, a beam of 19 meters, a deck area of 970 m2 and with a capacity of 5,500 dwt. They will be equipped with high power supply and offer excellent station keeping and the highest redundancy capacity.

In addition to ordinary class notations for PSVs, the vessels shall be built with equipment and class notations for Fire Fighting (Fi-Fi II), Oil Spill Recovery in Emergency Situations (Oilrec) and according to NOFO guidelines, Rescue and Standby Services to Offshore Installations (Standby Vessel) for up to 300 persons, and Safe Hose Operation System (SHOS).

Delivery of the PSVs is scheduled to take place from Q3 2015 to Q2 2016.
