Report: COSL finds jack-up work with Husky Energy

Offshore drilling contractor China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) has reportedly found work for one of its jack-up drilling rigs.

According to information provided by VesselsValue, a website providing intel on the offshore and shipping world, COSL found work for the Hai Yang Shi You 943 (HYSY 943) rig.

The Canadian energy company hired COSL’s rig on Monday, December 18. According to the latest AIS data, the rig is located off the shore of Macau.

The contract for the HYSY 943 rig will begin on March 1, 2018, and last for six months with an end date set for August 31, 2018.

The rig is an independent leg cantilever jack-up which can work in a maximum water depth of 400 feet and has a maximum drill depth of 35,000 feet. The jack-up is of a Friede & Goldman design, built in 2016 by the Dalian No 1 Production Yard.
