Russia: Hundred Bcm of Gas Produced at Yuzhno-Russkoye Field

At the Yuzhno-Russkoye oil and gas field on May 17 the one hundred billionth cubic meter of gas was produced.

“We will not stop at what has been accomplished: 100 billion is just the beginning. I am sure that with our professional team, modern technologies and efficient management we will shortly achieve further success”, said Stanislav Tsygankov, General director of Severneftegazprom.

OJSC Severneftegazprom is a gas producing company of Gazprom Group. Gazprom, BASF and E.ON are its shareholders. The Company holds the hydrocarbons exploration, development and production license for the Yuzhno-Russkoye oil and gas field located in the Krasnoselkupsky District of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Tyumen region. ABC1+C2 natural gas reserves of the field exceed 1 trillion cubic meters.

In October 2007 the field was put into commercial production. In August 2009 the Yuzhno-Russkoye field reached its annual design capacity of 25 billion cubic meters one year ahead of schedule. In 2012 it is planned to produce more than 26 billion cubic meters of gas.
