Russia, Vietnam discussing gas cooperation

Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev discussed oil and gas cooperation with Vietnamese president Truong Tan Sang during a meeting at a summit in the Philippines.

Topics discussed at the meeting attended by Gazprom’s head, Alexey Miller, long-term pipeline gas and LNG supply through the development of the Eastern Gas program, as well as oil supply, refining and power generation, Gazprom revealed in a statement.

“Natural gas becomes more important and the need in a sustainable energy infrastructure becomes more urgent,” Miller said.

According to him, Russia is looking to develop the vast energy resources it holds in its Asian part and accelerate the development of Siberia and the Far East through participation in regional integration processes.
